“If you have technology, you have a stack, but of what?” - Corey Lambert

Introduction:

If you run a website, then you have a stack of technology behind it.

In the web 3.0 days we are losing site into the context and structure of what really matters and with AI, there is so much garbage out there that the future is in authenticity and imagination.

Yet, when you are focusing on running a business, many times, we lose touch with our work and the structure of the business we are running.

In every instance of a business, when we have a site we want to do a few things, but mainly, boost your brand awareness, increase conversions, and improve customer service.

Yet, although blogs help you connect with your audience on a more personal level and allow them to interact with you in an individual capacity, it too is being over run with AI garbage that is regurgitated input.

blogs spamming the world

With that said, here i what we focus on with your site 👊

1. Frontend

There is so much to a website today, but it is not the same "stuff" it used to be. When you develop a website from scratch, you use CSS, HTML, JS, BootStrap and React to develop the site. Today, with AI, we have tools such as Replit, Blackbox and even ChatGPT that is used to develop a site.

The front end is that interface between what you offer to the digital world and how someone finds, uses and interacts with what you offer.

The main difference is in what one can do with these ingredients. Like cooking, when you are working with the raw ingredients you can make what ever and change and advance what you need when you need it. When you use a recipe, such as the tools above, you are stuck with their development lifecycle and what they deem is important.

This matters and we will get to that in a moment.

2. Backend

The backend is the code that drives the functionality of your system. These tools and languages can be Python, Java, PHP, Ruby and more.

Each language helps in different ways. For instance, Python is great for quick development and what we call MVP or Minimal Viable Products. Java on the other hand is secure and scalable in a way that stands on its own as the difference between building a car in a facility or from your garage.

Each has its own merits and use-cases, but, you would not scale a operation from your garage, ideally.

Choosing the right language and knowing how to stay on what you need and when to evolve to something better or more secure is a art of its own.

Most of it is just reading the field and being able to determine what is useful and what is not, such as any master builder does when they know the landscape and arena they play in.

3. Database, Tools and Bringing it together

In our next blog we will continue this dialog and discovery of how best to use databases, the Tools that drive them all and how to bring it all together.

Start your own Full Stack checklist:

Here is a quick checklist to determine if you need a fractional CTO and how they might help. **Remember imperfect action beats inaction, get started and keep publishing.

  • Do you have a website and if so, how was it built and who owns the domain

  • What type of website do you have; Ecommerce, Informational, Application, Interactive, etc.

  • Do you know what hardware your system runs on and is it ready to scale?

  • Is your infrastructure flexible? Flexible as in, if you need a feature or find a bug, how do you get that resolved and change it today?

  • Where is your data stored and is it safe? Trick question here - If you store your information anywhere on the cloud or somewhere other than a disconnected from the internet server, then it is most likely not safe.

  • What tools do you use to develop opportunities for your site and its infrastructure?

  • How do you use and visualize your data?

If you have the answers or do not to these questions, then either way there is opportunity, but if you do not know what these questions are talking about, or do not have a plan around them for your business, then you are missing out on a world of opportunity.
